Interview

2003

How did you become a designer/artist?

With a background in fine arts and art history I have been working in the new media field for 7 years. My recent experience includes acting as senior art director at Fathom Knowledge Network being involved in all design aspects, online courses and marketing requests. Also working closely with the technology team, serving as their senior creative developer. Previously, I was with Luminant Worldwide [formerly Interactive 8] where I served as an art director and rich media specialist for clients such as Sony, JVC, History Channel and Debeers. Currently I am consulting as a freelance art director and designer for multimerge inc. while creating fine art represented by the Agora Gallery in SoHo, NY.

What are you doing now?

My day job these days consists of working as a freelance art director and designer to keep my head above water. I have a great circle of talent I deal with like Kevin Scally and Brian Klutch so they always make me look better than I actually am. At night, I throw myself into my painting. This keeps me sane and prevents me from getting bored of either digital or analog art.

What are your plans for the future?

As of right now I’m pretty happy where I’m at but I could always be doing more Gallery shows and participating in more challenging projects. In turn, a perfect future would be just me doing more of what I do now.

What American artist inspires you most?

Chris Cunningham.

What unlocks your creativity?

Ear piercing music and plenty of Amstel Light.
